One of the premier institutions of higher education in Lakhimpur district of Assam, Miri Jiory College has come a long way since its inception in 2000. Situated at an easily accessible location in Ghunasuti of Lakhimpur District, the college has been able to provide a sustainable momentum to the efforts to provide quality education to the student community. The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and offers B.A. course in different subjects. This college is a single stream college having only the Arts stream offering the Four years Degree Course (FYUGP) with the programmes- MIL (Assamese), English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Philosophy.
Since the inception of the college, it has been trying its best to maintain the quality of higher education. Every year about 300 students from different parts of this locality got admitted in this college and this has been continuing today as well. At present the institution has been offering MIL (Assamese), Assamese, English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Philosophy under Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh.
